    Tushar Tondvalkar

    Tushar Tondvalkar is a celebrated Chef and Owner of The Indian Pantry, a culinary enterprise that focuses on contemporary Indian dining experiences in Metro Vancouver. In early 2023 he partnered with Brave Brewing Co. to open Frankie Street food, a food truck specialising in Bombay inspired wraps and burgers. Notably, he achieved recognition as the Winner of Season 1 Episode 4 of the show “Chefs Vs Wild” on Hulu and Disney+. With a deep-rooted love for regional Indian cuisine, Tushar has effectively broadened the scope of his culinary offerings throughout British Columbia, making the authentic flavors of India accessible to a diverse range of diners.

    During his culinary career, Tushar has gained invaluable experience through internships at prestigious establishments such as Gaggan, Asia’s Number One restaurant, and Gaa, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant, both located in Bangkok. He has also honed his skills at some of Vancouver’s most esteemed restaurants, including Bauhaus, Fish House in Stanley Park, and Blue Water Cafe.

    Driven by a mission to redefine Western perceptions of Indian food, Chef Tushar aims to showcase its dynamic nature while preserving the essence of authentic flavors abundant in Indian cuisine. Through his innovative approach, he encourages diners to explore Indian gastronomy with a fresh perspective, discovering the richness and uniqueness that lies within.

    Tushar Kandalgaokar

    Born and raised in Mumbai, India. Tushar K pursued an education in hospitality before jumping into a culinary career after an apprenticeship in California. He has worked with the award winning restaurant like the Hawksworth Group in vancouver and currently he is a sous chef at Botanist restaurant at Fairmont Pacific rim in Vancouver, he calls this place his home because it gave him a lot of various opportunities like collaboration dinner with 3 Michelin star Chef Julien Royer of Odette in Singapore and 2 Michelin star Chef Ryan McCaskey from Acadia also develops menu seasonally with award winning chef Hector Laguna. He brings his passion for cooking and positive energy into the kitchen. During his days off, this avid fitness enthusiast can be found running around the seawall or getting lost in the local mountain.

    Prem Shetty

    Prem and Chef Tushar met at Mumbai Local where Prem was the General Manager and helped curate the bar menu. Prem’s experiences working at Vancouver’s iconic restaurant ‘Joe Fortes ‘ as a bartender and venturing out to establishments such as the Hotel Georgia, Tableau Bar Bistro (restaurant managing and bartending ) and The Flying Pig have honed his skills in creating and managing innovative bar menus.

    He has worked with Chef Tushar in curating an India inspired cocktail menu using the best of BC’s wine and spirits.
